This advanced system is designed to support grid stability, enhance power quality, and deliver an optimized levelized cost of storage (LCOS) for future projects.

PowerTitan 2.0 is a state-of-the-art integration of Sungrow’s power electronics, electrochemistry, and power grid support technologies. This next-generation solution for utility-scale energy storage incorporates a large battery cell capacity of 314Ah, a string Power Conversion System (PCS) integrated into the battery container, Stem Cell Grid Tech, and a systematic liquid cooling temperature control mechanism. By improving the power density, the all-in-one system enables a 20-ft container to accommodate 5MWh batteries and a 2.5MW PCS.
The PowerTitan 2.0 optimizes energy storage efficiency by integrating battery modules and the string PCS within a 20-ft container. With the ability to charge and discharge battery racks individually, the string PCS increases the system’s discharged energy capacity by more than 7% over its entire lifespan.
One of the system’s standout features is its round-trip efficiency (RTE) of 89.5%, boasting a 2% enhancement through its Cell to Grid technology (C2G). This technology simplifies the energy conversion process between DC and AC power.
Furthermore, the inclusion of a liquid cooling thermal management system enables balanced heat dissipation for both the PCS and battery modules within the container. This ensures a minimal temperature difference of 2.5 degrees Celsius between cells and modules, leading to an extended 20-year system performance life and improved charging and discharging efficiency.
The PowerTitan 2.0 employs artificial intelligence (AI) bionic thermal balance technology, which automatically adapts the heat dissipation method based on battery temperature, environmental conditions, and system operation status. This innovative technology reduces the system’s daily energy consumption to 50kWh — 40% less than the industry standard average.
Moreover, the PowerTitan 2.0 is equipped with Stem Cell Grid Tech, aimed at enhancing grid stability and power quality. It incorporates several cutting-edge technologies, including enhanced continuous high and low voltage ride-through, multi-level broadband oscillation suppression, flexible inertia support, microsecond-level voltage control, and gigawatt-level black start capability. With these features, the system seamlessly transitions between high voltage ride-through (HVRT) and low voltage ride-through (LVRT), achieves resonance adaptation in the frequency range of 0.15Hz to 2.5kHz, and restores power supply to the local grid when voltage fluctuations are within 2%.
