In a significant move to bolster its global presence, SK IE Technology (SKIET) has announced a strategic partnership with Gotion, a leading battery manufacturer, to expand the supply of separators for electric vehicle (EV) and energy storage system (ESS) batteries in key markets across North America and Europe.
The collaboration was formalized through a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) signed on February 26, 2025, during the Intersolar North America Conference in San Diego, California. The signing ceremony brought together SKIET CEO Lee Sang-min, Head of SKIET Business Division Kim Jong-hyun, and senior executives from Gotion, including its President and Head of International Supply Chain Center.
This partnership underscores both companies’ commitment to strengthening their positions in the global EV and ESS markets. Under the MOU, SKIET will supply high-performance separators to Gotion’s production facilities in Illinois, USA, and Slovakia, Europe. These strategic locations are part of Gotion’s expanding manufacturing network, which already includes multiple global facilities.
