Monthly information on power batteries in June 2024
Production:
In June, driven by the new energy vehicle market, my country’s total power and other battery production was 84.5GWh, a month-on-month increase of 2.2% and a year-on-year increase of 28.7%.
From January to June, my country’s cumulative production of power and other batteries was 430.0GWh, a cumulative year-on-year increase of 36.9%.
Sales:
In June, my country’s power and other battery sales were 92.2GWh, a month-on-month increase of 18.4% and a year-on-year increase of 51.2%. Among them, power battery sales were 69.3GWh, a month-on-month increase of 23.3% and a year-on-year increase of 37.0%; other battery sales were 22.9GWh, a month-on-month increase of 5.5% and a year-on-year increase of 120.7%. The sales of power batteries and other batteries accounted for 75.2% and 24.8% respectively. Compared with the previous month, the proportion of power batteries increased by 3.0 percentage points.
From January to June, my country’s cumulative sales of power and other batteries were 402.6GWh, a cumulative year-on-year increase of 40.3%. Among them, the cumulative sales of power batteries were 318.1GWh, a cumulative year-on-year increase of 26.6%; the cumulative sales of other batteries were 84.5GWh, a cumulative year-on-year increase of 137.3%. The sales of power batteries and other batteries accounted for 79.0% and 21.0% respectively. Compared with the same period last year, the proportion of power batteries decreased by 1.2 percentage points.
In June, driven by the increase in the export volume of other batteries, my country’s total exports of power and other batteries were 18.4GWh, a month-on-month increase of 33.9% and a year-on-year increase of 67.8%. The total exports accounted for 20.0% of the sales volume that month. Among them, the export volume of power batteries was 13.2GWh, a month-on-month increase of 34.7% and a year-on-year increase of 32.1%; the export volume of other batteries was 5.3GWh, a month-on-month increase of 31.9% and a year-on-year increase of 417.8%. The export of power batteries and other batteries accounted for 71.5% and 28.5% respectively. Compared with the previous month, the proportion of power batteries increased by 0.5 percentage points.
From January to June, my country’s cumulative exports of power and other batteries reached 73.7GWh, a cumulative year-on-year increase of 18.6%, and the total cumulative exports accounted for 18.3% of the cumulative sales in the first six months. Among them, the cumulative export volume of power batteries was 60.0GWh, a cumulative year-on-year increase of 8.2%; the cumulative export volume of other batteries was 13.6GWh, a cumulative year-on-year increase of 106.7%. Power and other batteries accounted for 81.5% and 18.5% respectively. Compared with the cumulative volume of the previous month, the proportion of power batteries decreased by 3.4 percentage points.
