HPQ Silicon Inc. (HPQ), a leader in the development and production of innovative silicon-based materials, today announced significant advancements in its battery anode technology, demonstrating exceptional performance in full-size 18650 batteries and securing full ownership of a crucial patent for fumed alumina and titanium production. These developments solidify HPQ’s position as a key player in the rapidly expanding advanced battery market.

Exceptional Battery Performance with Silicon Anode Materials
Independent testing has confirmed that HPQ-Novacium’s silicon anode materials significantly outperform conventional graphite anodes when integrated into commercial-grade 18650 batteries. The results showcase a marked improvement in battery capacity, cycle life, and overall energy density – critical factors for a wide range of applications, including electric vehicles (EVs), consumer electronics, and energy storage systems.
“From the outset of our silicon anode material initiative, Novacium and HPQ chose a bold strategy by testing full-size, commercial-grade 18650 batteries to demonstrate the effectiveness of our proprietary silicon-based materials,” stated Bernard Touillon, President and CEO of HPQ Silicon Inc. and NOVACIUM SAS. “Direct comparisons with commercially available batteries underscore the real-world advantages and distinctiveness of our approach. These results are a testament to the dedication and innovation of our team.”
The company’s silicon anode materials seamlessly integrate into existing battery manufacturing processes, replacing up to 10% of graphite without requiring costly retooling or process overhauls. This ease of integration, coupled with the performance gains, makes HPQ’s solution highly attractive to battery manufacturers seeking to enhance their products.
Strategic Acquisition of Fumed Alumina/Titanium Patent
Further strengthening its competitive advantage, HPQ Silicon Inc. has acquired all rights, title, and interest held by the inventors in a provisional patent for an innovative, one-step manufacturing process to produce fumed alumina (Al₂O₃) and fumed titanium (TiO₂). These materials are essential components in next-generation lithium-ion battery cathodes, and this acquisition eliminates any royalty or other obligation previously associated with their production.
“This acquisition is a pivotal moment for HPQ,” added Touillon. “Having full ownership of this patent addresses a key question raised by potential technical and financial partners interested in our silicon-based anode materials. It provides clarity and confidence for our collaborators and accelerates our path to commercialization.”
The acquisition will be completed through the issuance of 1,254,545 units, priced at $0.22 per share, with a four-year warrant attached. All shares issued are subject to a mandatory four-month-and-one-day hold period, pending regulatory approvals.
Market Opportunity and Strategic Positioning
The global market for graphite is experiencing significant growth, driven by the increasing demand for lithium-ion batteries. Benchmark Minerals Intelligence (BMI) projects the market to expand from approximately 5.7 million tonnes in 2025 to 11.1 million tonnes by 2030. This translates into a substantial addressable market for silicon-based materials, estimated between 555,000 and 1.1 million tonnes by 2030, valued between US$27.5 billion and US$55.0 billion.
HPQ Silicon Inc. is strategically positioned to capture a significant portion of this market, targeting the “3C” markets (Computer, Consumer, and Communication), currently valued at US$12 billion and projected to reach US$38.3 billion by 2030. The company’s focus on these markets, combined with its innovative technology and strategic partnerships, provides a clear pathway to sustainable growth.
Future Plans and Commercialization
HPQ Silicon Inc. is actively pursuing several key initiatives to accelerate the commercialization of its silicon anode materials:
- Pilot Production: Scaling up production capacity to meet growing demand from potential customers.
- Strategic Partnerships: Collaborating with leading battery manufacturers to integrate HPQ’s materials into their products.
- Technology Development: Continuing to innovate and improve the performance of its silicon anode materials.
- Market Expansion: Exploring new applications and markets for its technology.
“We are incredibly excited about the future of HPQ Silicon Inc.,” concluded Touillon. “Our innovative technology, combined with our strategic acquisitions and strong market positioning, provides a solid foundation for long-term success. We are committed to delivering exceptional value to our shareholders and contributing to the advancement of battery technology.”
