SHENZHEN, CHINA – March 17, 2025 – BYD (Build Your Dreams) today announced a groundbreaking advancement in electric vehicle technology with the unveiling of its Super E platform, alongside the pre-sale launch of the Han L and Tang L models. This revolutionary platform promises to eliminate “charging anxiety” and redefine the EV experience with unprecedented charging speeds and performance capabilities, effectively achieving “oil-to-electric” parity.

The Super E platform represents a monumental leap forward, integrating a suite of cutting-edge technologies including a 1-megawatt (1000kW) flash charging system, a 30,000 RPM electric motor, and a new generation of silicon carbide power chips. These innovations collectively deliver a performance profile previously unattainable in the electric vehicle sector.
“Oil-to-Electric” Charging: A New Standard
The core of BYD’s breakthrough lies in its ability to dramatically reduce charging times. The Super E platform’s 1MW flash charging capability allows for a peak charging speed of 2 kilometers per minute – a world-leading achievement for mass-produced electric vehicles. A Han L model equipped with the flash charging system can achieve a range of 400 kilometers in just 5-8 minutes, mirroring the refueling time of a gasoline-powered vehicle.
This remarkable speed is enabled by the innovative “Flash Battery” technology, which features a completely redesigned internal structure to create ultra-fast ion channels. This design reduces internal resistance by 50% and allows for a charging current of 1000A and a charging rate of 10C – both industry benchmarks.

Beyond Speed: Power and Efficiency
The Super E platform isn’t solely about charging speed. BYD has also pushed the boundaries of electric motor technology. The introduction of a 30,000 RPM electric motor marks a significant advancement in motor design. This high-speed motor not only boosts vehicle speed but also reduces motor weight, minimizes size, and increases power density, ushering in a new era of electric drive systems.
To manage the immense power demands of the Super E platform, BYD has developed a new generation of automotive-grade silicon carbide power chips. These chips boast a voltage rating of 1500V, representing the industry’s first mass-produced silicon carbide power chip of this voltage level.

Comprehensive Charging Ecosystem
Recognizing that fast charging requires a robust infrastructure, BYD is committed to building a comprehensive charging ecosystem. The company has developed a fully liquid-cooled 1360kW megawatt flash charging terminal system, the first of its kind. BYD plans to construct over 4,000 megawatt flash charging stations across China.
Furthermore, BYD’s innovative “dual-gun charging” technology allows existing fast-charging stations to be transformed into flash charging stations, while its “intelligent boosting” technology ensures compatibility with public fast-charging infrastructure.

Han L and Tang L: Flagship Models of the Super E Era
The Han L and Tang L models are the first vehicles to be built upon the Super E platform. Pre-sale prices for the Han L EV range from 270,000 to 350,000 yuan, while the Tang L EV is priced between 280,000 and 360,000 yuan. The Han L and Tang L DM models, which will feature BYD’s DM-p plug-in hybrid technology, are available for blind pre-orders. Official launch is scheduled for April 2025.
“The Super E platform represents a paradigm shift in electric vehicle technology,” stated a BYD spokesperson. “We are committed to pushing the boundaries of innovation and delivering a truly exceptional driving experience for our customers. Our goal is to make electric vehicles not just a sustainable choice, but the preferred choice for drivers worldwide.”
