On December 1, the Aion UT Super, jointly launched by GAC Group, CATL, and JD.com as a “national car for the people,” held its 1,000th customer delivery ceremony in Beijing, marking the vehicle’s official entry into the mass production and delivery phase.

At the delivery ceremony held at JD Auto Care’s Beijing Comprehensive Service Center, Mr. Wang from Beijing, the 1,000th customer, shared his experience: “I mainly needed a car for daily commuting. When I saw that cars could be purchased on JD, I immediately ordered a battery-swapping version. The entire process was extremely convenient. After actual experience with the new car, I found the space to be larger than imagined, and the intelligent features are very practical. Having battery-swapping capability at this price point is truly excellent value.” Notably, at the same time, a GAC Aion 4S store in Beijing also handed over the keys to the 1,001st Aion UT Super to its customer.

According to reports, this first batch delivery of Aion UT Super marks an industry first for achieving 1,000 deliveries in the first week without consumers conducting physical test drives and without relying on accumulated offline orders. As the first collaborative vehicle model among the three parties, nearly 99% of the first-week deliveries were sold through JD.com’s online channels, fully demonstrating the core driving power of e-commerce channels. The rapid delivery of 1,000 vehicles also reflects that the vehicle’s performance and quality, as well as the new cooperative model jointly launched by GAC Group, CATL, and JD, have gained preliminary market recognition.

In terms of the new car-buying experience, Aion UT Super has implemented “transparent online pricing” through JD.com’s online channels, effectively eliminating various information asymmetries associated with traditional price comparison and negotiation, bringing users a relaxed and efficient car-buying experience. By removing cumbersome intermediary steps, car-buying costs have been significantly reduced, and the vehicle selection cycle has been drastically shortened from the traditional offline model’s several weeks. Aion UT Super has also introduced four major service upgrade measures, including an additional 2,600 yuan service package, purchase tax guarantee extension until December 31, a forthcoming “50 yuan for 1,000 kilometers” mileage package, invoice issuance coverage in more cities, and more user-friendly cancellation policies.
