Wacker Neuson Unveils Three New Electric Vehicles, Accelerating the Shift to Zero-Emission Construction

Munich, Germany – March 23, 2025 – German construction equipment manufacturer Wacker Neuson today announced the launch of three new electric vehicles, further expanding its electric product line and promising significantly reduced noise levels and rapid charging times for construction sites. The innovative products will be showcased at this year’s Bauma trade fair in Munich, Germany, next month, demonstrating Wacker Neuson’s ongoing commitment to sustainable construction practices.

The new additions to Wacker Neuson’s portfolio include two electric excavators, the EZ26e and the EZ10e, boasting payloads of 2.6 tons and 1 ton, respectively. While detailed specifications for the EZ10e are forthcoming, Wacker Neuson has confirmed that the EZ26e will be available with two battery size options: 30kWh and 40kWh. Both models can be charged using a standard household outlet or a high-voltage power supply with an onboard charging capacity of up to 9.9kW, with the option to further accelerate charging using a DC20 rapid charger.

These announcements represent the latest chapter in Wacker Neuson’s journey towards electrification, a journey that began in 2015 with the introduction of an electric rammer. This initial foray into electric power was followed by larger equipment, including the EZ17e electric mini excavator in 2020, marking a clear progression in the company’s commitment to sustainable solutions.

Today, Wacker Neuson’s ‘Zero-Emission’ series encompasses a wide range of electric equipment, including dumpers, wheel loaders, rollers, vibrating plates, and more. This comprehensive offering underscores the company’s mission to provide fully electric construction sites, minimizing environmental impact and maximizing operational efficiency. The core benefit of this technology lies in its ability to significantly reduce construction emissions and noise pollution, enabling work to be carried out in noise-sensitive locations, such as residential areas or hospitals, and even allowing for nighttime operations without disrupting surrounding communities.

At Bauma in Munich, which runs from April 7 to 13, Wacker Neuson will also present its latest WL300e electric wheel loader, alongside new battery-powered trowels. These trowels are powered by the innovative Battery One system, a swappable battery solution designed for Wacker Neuson’s smaller tools, including battery-powered rammers, internal vibrators, and plates. The Battery One system is the result of a collaborative effort involving leading manufacturers, including Wacker Neuson, Mikasa, Swepac, and Enar, highlighting the industry’s collective drive towards sustainable power solutions.

The introduction of the EZ26e and EZ10e excavators further solidifies Wacker Neuson’s position as a leader in electric construction equipment. The ability to charge these machines using readily available power sources, combined with the rapid charging capabilities of the DC20 charger, minimizes downtime and maximizes productivity on the job site. The reduced noise levels also contribute to a safer and more comfortable working environment for operators and surrounding personnel.

Beyond the immediate benefits of reduced emissions and noise, Wacker Neuson’s commitment to electrification aligns with the growing demand for sustainable construction practices. Governments and regulatory bodies worldwide are increasingly implementing stricter environmental regulations, and construction companies are under pressure to reduce their carbon footprint. By offering a comprehensive range of electric equipment, Wacker Neuson is empowering its customers to meet these challenges and contribute to a more sustainable future.

The Battery One system, with its swappable battery design, represents a significant advancement in battery technology for construction equipment. The ability to quickly exchange batteries on-site eliminates the need for lengthy charging cycles, ensuring continuous operation and maximizing uptime. This innovative solution is particularly well-suited for applications where productivity is paramount, such as road construction and infrastructure projects.

Wacker Neuson’s ongoing investment in research and development is driving continuous improvements in electric construction equipment. Future innovations are expected to include increased battery capacity, faster charging times, and enhanced performance capabilities. The company is also exploring new technologies, such as autonomous operation and remote control, to further optimize the efficiency and safety of its equipment.

The launch of these new electric vehicles underscores Wacker Neuson’s commitment to shaping the future of construction. By embracing innovation and prioritizing sustainability, the company is empowering its customers to build a better world. The combination of reduced environmental impact, increased productivity, and enhanced safety makes Wacker Neuson’s electric equipment an increasingly attractive option for construction companies of all sizes.
