rPlus Energies today announced the groundbreaking of the Green River Energy Center, a 400-megawatt (MW) solar photovoltaic (PV) and 400 MW/1,600 megawatt-hour (MWh) battery storage project in Eastern Utah. One of the largest solar-plus-storage projects currently under construction in the United States, the Green River Energy Center will supply power to PacifiCorp under a power purchase agreement, marking a significant step forward in Utah’s renewable energy landscape.

The project, which secured over $1 billion in construction debt financing earlier this year, is set to create approximately 500 jobs, many of which will be filled by local workers. This development is expected to significantly boost the economy of Emery County, enhancing local tax revenue, strengthening public services, and providing long-term employment opportunities in the energy sector.
