October 27, 2025 – Yichang, China – Envision AESC officially held the groundbreaking ceremony for its Yichang Energy Storage Gigafactory. The event was attended by Xiong Zhengyu, Secretary of Yichang Municipal Party Committee; Chen Honghui, Deputy Secretary and Mayor of Yichang; Fang Xiao, Senior Vice President of Envision Energy; and Zhao Weijun, President of Envision AESC China Region.
Building a Full-Chain Manufacturing Powerhouse
The Yichang Energy Storage Gigafactory is designed with a planned annual capacity of 40GWh, covering the complete lithium battery industry chain including electrodes, cells, and battery packs. The facility will manufacture next-generation 700+Ah energy storage battery products to serve leading global energy storage customers. Operations are expected to commence in 2026, with total annual output value exceeding 10 billion yuan upon full capacity.
In his remarks, Zhao Weijun emphasized that the rapid launch of the facility is inseparable from the strong support of the Yichang Municipal Party Committee, government, and relevant departments. “We will carry forward the ‘prefab spirit’ and refresh the ‘Envision speed’ to build the most competitive full lithium battery industry chain hub, transforming Yichang from China’s ‘hydropower heart’ into a ‘green engine’ for global energy transition, allowing ‘Yichang-made’ batteries to illuminate the world.”

The Yichang facility represents another critical strategic deployment for Envision AESC in Central China.
