Lucid cuts prices for the Air in the US

US manufacturer Lucid Motors has significantly lowered the prices of its electric luxury sedan Air. The price reductions affect all trim levels – the Pure, Touring and Grand Touring.

The Lucid Air Pure AWD now costs 82,400 dollars in the USA, which is 10,650 dollars less than before. The prices for the Air Touring and Air Grand Touring versions each drop by 12,550 dollars. The EVs are now available for 95,000 dollars and 125,600 dollars, respectively.

Moreover, in September, Lucid will launch a rear-wheel drive version of the Pure variant. According to media reports, the trim level should sell for 77,400 dollars, 5,000 dollars less than before. The manufacturer also offers special leasing conditions until the end of August.

The announcement comes just ahead of a conference call to present the financial results for the second quarter, scheduled for 7 August. A few weeks ago, the carmaker published its production and delivery figures for Q2 2023- both of which were slightly below the first quarter of the year. According to the results, Lucid Motors produced 2,173 electric cars and delivered 1,404 in the second quarter.

Lucid already lowered its production forecast for 2023 from 10,000 to 14,000 vehicles previously to “more than 10,000.” But Lucid must turn the trend around to get to five-figure annual production. After two quarters, 4,487 cars have been built. That means at least 5,513 units must leave the plant in Casa Grande, Arizona, in the second half of the year.
