DTEK officially launched Ukraine’s first industrial 1 MW energy storage system with a capacity of 2.25 MWh

Ukrainian energy investor DTEK has launched a 1MW industrial energy storage system with a capacity of 2.25MWh. DTEK said the launch had “initiated a nationwide discussion on further developing Ukraine’s energy storage market and the need for corresponding legislative regulation”.

DTEK Group is the leader in Ukraine’s energy sector and the industry’s biggest private investor. DTEK has represented Ukraine in the UN Global Compact since 2007. DTEK Group is a member of SCM, whose shareholder is Rinat Akhmetov.

Maksym Timchenko, DTEK CEO said: “By launching the first industrial energy storage system in Ukraine, DTEK, as the largest domestic investor, is contributing to the reliability and flexibility of the country’s power grid, decarbonization of the industry as well as bringing Ukraine closer to the European energy market.”
